Give me a BRAKE...!!

aaaaaahhh..... UAE's taxis. They never go where you want them to. Not in rush hours atleast. Most of the times they do not even stop for you. Sometimes one has to wait for a long time just to get into one of these cabs. But once you do, you never wish you should have taken it. Here's why....

Yesterday i had to go pick up my car from the workshop (in Sharjah) and so i needed "THE TAXI". I had to stand in the scorching heat for 20min till one of the cabi's saw my waving hand and decided to stop by. Well, with a big relief and a smile on my face, i got in the taxi - not knowing what i was actually getting into.

The smile with which i had got into the cab did not last very long. I told the desi driver my destination and the car started to move along. We passed one traffic signal and came to an open road. That was it; the open road. In my opinion, i think, for a while the driver thought that he was in an ambulance or something. I could see him speeding by all the cars jumping from one lane to another as i fly from one side to another in the back seat.

At that point i was pretty sure that the driver must have forgotten about the padel in the middle that is known as the "BRAKE". And for a min i just wished that the taxi company had put in an emergancy brake in the back for the passengers - just like in the trains. (cmon say it - it is a good idea)

Well, at that point i could only wish or shout at the cool-headed driver and shout is exactly what i did. Fortunately my destination was also here and i got off still shouting at the driver which only helped me. As for the driver, he just sped away to pick up his next victim for the day.

The Elevator: Behind These Doors - Part I

In my last few years i have been using this tranportational machine alot. I never knew its importance untill now.I'v been meaning to write on this for quite some time now and finally got some time to do it. So, here it is 'THE ELEVATOR'

These doors have a unique purpose in our life. Behind these doors lie a gateway to another world - visited by millions of us everyday. For some its a neccessity but for some its just for pleasure.

Its not that easy to enter these doors in younger years. Its takes courage and willingness. However, for some its a piece of cake.
You might call them 'Elevator Doors' but i call them the 'POD GATES'. Once you enter these Gates, the real journey begins........

To Eat or not to Eat..??

I never knew that different kind of frustrations can have an effect on your eating habits. I mean yes, a problem can be a problem but there are millions of problems / frustrations in life. And not all are dealt in the same way.

Personally, i always feel exceptionally hungry when its a work related problem. On the other hand, when its a home related issue, the empty tummy feels good.

I always end up in that dilema, DO YOU????
